#1 Treaty Oak Park
Treaty Oak park is situated in downtown Jacksonville within a small park. The main feature of this location is the a magnificent 200 year old oak tree. There are so many angles to capture with this tree that anywhere in the park can provide a great spot to capture a great photo. There is a nice wooden walkway which provides ease of walking around and adds a nice touch of the urban feel in this tranquil place. There is a lot of history around how the park was created including its beginning’s of being part of an amusement park (Click for history info). Since the park is centrally located, it offers a wide range of photography options. The organic feel this makes this one of our top choices in Jacksonville for a photography session.

#2 Jacksonville Beach & Peir
Living in Jacksonville, you are located within minutes from a beach, which is nature’s most glorious backdrop. It offers a location that can be captured nearly anytime of the day. What more is there to say other than the beach, the vast views, and the fresh air. The constant beach breeze is perfect for creating motion, such as a long flowy dress that can be the dramatic focal point of any shot. Keep this in mind, also, as longer hair will flow effortlessly whether welcomed or unwelcomed, in the wind. If you are not afraid to get a little wet this may be another wonderful element to use in your images. #3 Castillo de San Marcos Saint Augustine, FL
St. Augustine is located about 45 minutes from Jacksonville, FL and is a small quaint picturesque location. It is the oldest town in the United States of America established in 1565, with plenty of the colonial and Spanish charm. At every turn there are small nooks and crannies that offer elegant opportunities to take great photographs. Take some time and enjoy the city after the photography session, there are plenty of restaurants, and can provide a nice romantic environment. Best time is to be within the city at sunset before the light posts come on, which provides a good mood to the overall place. #4 Boneyard Beach, Big Talbot Island State Park
This is one of northern Florida’s most unique attractions and it is conveniently located about 45 minutes north of Jacksonville. At Boneyard Beach, the trees are slowly falling off a small cliff into the ocean and becoming petrified along this journey. The result leaves these beautiful trees scattered long the beach that can be used to sit, stand and climb on top. Dramatic photography can be captured here with the elegant trees and ocean breeze. Long dresses while standing on one of the fallen trees can flow unobstructed to help create unique composition. With this calm tranquil place good for all types of photography sessions.

Friendship Fountain park is located in the heart of Downtown, offers expansive views of the city and the main bridge to Jacksonville, FL. The riverfront provides a great backdrop of the downtown, and a few steps away is a large fountain with plenty of seating areas. With so much versatility, the many photography spots in this area makes it a photographer’s dream. Most of the area is paved and easy to walk around, and provides a very urban feel with natural elements. Being conveniently located and offering all these features which is good for all types of photography sessions.

#7 Washington Oak State Park
Washington Oaks State Park offers picturesque gardens and trees with a completely manicured layout giving opportunity for some great photography moments (click for more info on park). Located roughly 1 hour from Jacksonville, FL this location will not disappoint! At every turn there is a new spot perfect for a pictures within the gardens. At the center of the garden there is a large tree surrounded by a smaller garden shrubs offering a nearly fully greenery scene which can produce very dramatic photography. Just across the way, on the beach there is a truly picturesque area with large rocks along the edge of the water, where waves and the sky meet. At high tide these can make for incredible shots if timed with the sunrise/sunset and the tides. While the beach and the park are not the same location, they are across the street from each other, within less than 5 minutes, and can be worked together into an extended photography session is needed for this. It is a great way to capture both beach and garden scenes. This location is great for any type of photography session.

#8 Camp Milton
Camp Milton is a great spot for a photo session nearby Jacksonville. It is a historic preserve of a civil war campground, with a nice barn, trails and fields to roam around. The great part is you don’t have to turn far to grab a nice unique picture here and plenty of room to roam around while doing it. There are nice special spots that can capture various views depending on angles. The large fields allow for large groups and vast scenery to be created here.

#9 Balis park San Marco
Balis Park is located in San Marco area of Jacksonville, FL. This central location in the heart of San Marco offers a small gazebo structure and fountains along with lion statues. Being centrally located in front San Marco commercial district offers great opportunity to enjoy great food and a good photography opportunity within a stones throw. This park is great for more traditional photography sessions in a small park easy to access.

#10 Memorial Park
Memorial Park is located in riverside area of Jacksonville FL close to downtown. The park faces the water with large statue and fountain in the center and charming waters edge (click for more info). There are nice trees surrounding the circular walkway around the park and nice sitting spots that are great for capturing couples and families sittings. Situated right on the St. Johns, with plenty of photography spots in front of the water makes this a great place for photography. Nearby are great restaurants and local shops all within walking distance. For all these reasons we ranked memorial park on our photography list.

#11 Bridge of Lions
Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine is a central location to capture the beauty of the bridge along with the nearby park and city. Right along side this location is a beautiful marina and nice garden paths and benches. There is a nearby plaza with a large gazebo to take great photographs. Everywhere you turn will be something capturing your eye that you will want to be in the photo. The river offers great views and has colonial charm on the posts long the rivers edge. This spot is great for couples as navigating from one location to the other requires crossing busy streets. Many things within a 2-3 minute walk to this area, which is why we make this our best photography spot list.

#14 Amazing Grace Family Farms
Amazing Grace Family Farms has a seasonal themes from fall with their pumpkin patches to spring with their wonderful sunflower fields (click for more info). The farm offers a unique place with plenty of rustic elements and activities to do with the family. This is not a year round location so ensuring they are open through their website or contact us for upcoming dates we are planning to be there.

#15 Blackrock Beach
Blackrock beach is nestled behind a small path carved in the forest leading to the beach. The path does take a bit to walk roughly 10-15 minutes until you reach the beach, it is a dirt & sand path with trees canopied overhead. Once at the beach there are rocks right there to your right where depending on tide can walk out very far to capture amazing photos. Be safe the rocks can be slippery and when the tide rises they can be under water so planning is important. If timed well this location can offer incredible photo opportunities for any occasion.

#16 Mom’s Park
Mom’s park is a small charming park located in riverside offering spectacular photo opportunities everywhere you turn. Might be called Yacht Basin park on some google maps but it is a wonderful park to capture moments in.

#17 Reddie Point Preserve
Reddie Point Preserve offers a long 700 ft dock along with a large wildlife area, long dirt trails and riverfront access. This park offers calm serenity with small amenities all around making them great for photo session of any kind, additional info (Click for more info on preserve). The long dock offers unique perspective photography, it has cross paths on the dock to capture angled shots, as well as a large sitting area at the end of the dock overlooking the St. Johns River. There is a large area at the end of the dock with benches and an unobstructed view in the east and west directions providing it a perfect spot for sunset photography. Nearby there are nature trails that connect the 2 parks in a natural canopy of trees. This is why Reddie Point Preserve spot is on our list for great photography spots in Jacksonville.
